Education Rights Paralegal
Patricia Mueller joined Timoney Knox in September 2014 as an Education Paralegal. She reviews and analyzes education litigation cases from an educational perspective and provides input based on best practices in educating children with disabilities. Based on her extensive knowledge of federal and state laws regulating the delivery of effective educational services to children with disabilities, she assesses the quality of IEPs and evaluations and provides direction on how teams can work together to reach their mutual goals on behalf of the child. She regularly communicates with the parents we represent regarding educational issues involving their child.
Mrs. Mueller worked with children with disabilities and their families in the public schools for 20 years as a speech/language pathologist. She then became a special education supervisor where she developed and managed programs and services for students of all ages across a wide spectrum of disabilities. Pat worked to ensure that professionals were competent, parents were informed and students’ educational rights were preserved. She is a frequent speaker on educational issues involving students with disabilities and compliance with the requirement of a free appropriate public education in school.
Mrs. Mueller received a B.S. in Speech Pathology and Audiology from Penn State University, and an M.A. in Speech Pathology from West Chester University. She holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech/Language/Hearing Association and is certified as a Special Education Supervisor.
